About Us
Spring Hill Jersey Cheese is a certified organic, handcrafted, artisan estate cheese. The homestead cheese is made from the milk of owner Larry Peter's herd of pasture-grazed Jersey cows on the Spring Hill Dairy just west of Petaluma in Sonoma County. The milk of Jersey cows contains a higher butterfat content, resulting in an incomparable rich and creamy flavor. Larry Peter began his dairy in 1987, and started producing Spring Hill Jersey Cheese in 1998. The success of Spring Hill cheeses grew out of the word of mouth testaments from customers in the local Farmer's Markets and can now be found in numerous stores throughout California. Spring Hill's cheeses continue to collect awards at various competitions.

Over the years, Spring Hill has developed a broad line of cheeses including: Quark, Butter, and a range of Cheddars and Jacks, which are offered (in addition to their traditional forms) in a variety of natural herb and spice flavors including garlic, pesto, sage and veggie. Spring Hill also produces a number of specialty cheeses including: Cheese Curds, squeaky and fresh, and Dry Jack, rich in flavor and aged for a harder texture.

We use vegetable rennet in all of our cheeses.
